You can start ACCA with the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualification right after HSC/ A-levels/ Graduation.
What is CAT?
The Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) is an accounting & finance-based entry-level global qualification. It means, if you complete CAT, you can start an early career in the accounting & finance sector.
How is CAT aligned with ACCA?
CAT is a combination of 9 papers of ACCA. So if you complete CAT, you’re already way ahead to complete your full ACCA qualification i.e. whenever you want, you can complete the rest of the ACCA papers after CAT and get your full ACCA qualification. Exemptions are available for accounting & finance graduates as well.
What else?
With CAT, the road leads to your bachelor’s and master’s from top UK universities that you can earn even staying in Bangladesh. You can also use ‘CAT’ after your name as it is an individual qualification.
Rundown of the full journey:
1. Complete only 9 papers, gather one year of experience and get CAT – an individual qualification
2. If you want, start the rest of the ACCA papers to complete ACCA after CAT
3. Get your bachelor’s and master’s respectively from Oxford Brookes University, UK and the University of London, UK – you don’t have to leave Bangladesh for that and IELTS is not required!
4. Complete all the ACCA papers, show 3 years of experience and get your full ACCA qualification
